Laurel Highlands Historical Village

Veterans Musical Gathering

Do you play a string instrument?

Would you be interested in learning to play a string instrument?

Do you enjoy listening to music?

Musical entertainment and Instruction provided by “Simple Gifts”.

Laurel Highlands Historical Village is sponsoring 3 separate gatherings at Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center, Tulip Building,  Black Box room located at 411 3rd Avenue, Johnstown, Pa. The building is

handicap accessible.

Gatherings will be held March 19, April 16 & May 21 from noon to 3pm.

Fun Art project included. Light refreshments provided. Participation is FREE to veterans.

Veterans Pride Pontoon Boat

      

     Veterans Pride Dedication at Yellow Creek State Park as President Abraham Lincoln was on hand to help dedicate this boat which will be used to take out veterans. We take Veterans out boating and fishing. If you would like to go out call our office at 814 241 6123

Veterans Food Drive

Laurel Highlands Historical Village will be conducting ongoing food drives gathering food, and paper goods , for area veterans who need our help.  

Gathering food items, paper goods, blankets,  used kitchen tools and small kitchen appliances,cameras video cams, misc. camera equipment  and other misc. items. 

If you wish to donate any items please take to the following locations. Food collection cart at, Rizzo Chiropractor center in Ebensburg, Hoss’s Ebensburg & Johnstown, Gallery Mall (food court), The Corner Coffee Shoppe

Veterans Trail and Park

HONAN AVE BIKE TRAIL Dedicated for Veterans

Explore the History in this hollow, as it stretches from Minersville, off of the River Walk trail and up to The Hinckston Reservoir.  The trail passes the remains of the Rosedale Coke Plant, an active Beaver Dam near the end a huge waterfall, and at end the Laurel Highlands Veterans Memorial. See application under veterans tab for application to get your own tag or bench for memorial placement  Ongoing effort to build a reflection park for all veterans and families to enjoy!
