Westmoreland County, PA – Official Website – Bridgeport Dam

Bridgeport Dam Bridgeport Dam is a multi-purpose flood control dam on Jacob’s Creek.  The park offers fishing, hunting, and nature study opportunities.  There are also soccer fields on the spillway of the dam.The PA Fish Commission manages the fishery under conservation regulations.  The permanent water pool is 70 acres in size and includes a boat launch.

Twin Lakes Park Twin Lakes Park best represents the Bureau of Parks and Recreation’s commitment to balance natural resources and public use. The park has received national recognition for its facilities and programs that are designed for use by all people. Stone paved walkways, three fishing decks, and modified picnic and play areas are a few of the accessible, barrier-free facilities available. Westmoreland County, PA – Official Website – Northmoreland Park

Northmoreland Park Northmoreland Park is 548 acres in size and is the largest Westmoreland County park. The Northmoreland Lake is stocked by the PA Fish and Boat Commission and includes both warm water fish and trout. The lake provides excellent fishing opportunities and a fishing derby is held every year. The nearby playgrounds, pavilions, Activity Center and trails also help to make the lake a very popular destination for park visitors.Address: 280 Markle Road, Apollo, PA 15613

Cedar Creek ParkCedar Creek Park, with its 479 acres, is the premiere access point to the Youghiogheny River Trail for Westmoreland County residents. The Great Allegheny Passage, a regional trail system linking Washington D.C. to Pittsburgh, passes through Cedar Creek Park along the Youghiogheny River. This hiking, biking, and walking trail passes through the Manderino Riverfront portion of the park. Address: 453 Evergreen Drive, Belle Vernon, PA 15012
